What’s Up Dock?
You have to check out DockSense from FLIR/Raymarine. It uses artificial intelligence to recognize hazards when docking and augment joystick low-speed control systems to prevent boats from banging into docks, pilings, seawalls or other vessels. In essence, it surrounds the boat with invisible fenders. DockSense uses cameras and sensors that interface with the boat’s joystick system to ensure that the vessel enters the dock without drama. Good-Night Vision
Stop by the SiOnyx booth in the electronics tent ask about the Aurora handheld scope. This day/night action camera utilizes “ultra-lowlight technology,” which enables color viewing, still photos and video in near total darkness. It also allows DSC calling directly from a networked Furuno TZtouch2 display by tapping on and selecting a AIS/DSC target. Going Live
Lowrance will have its HDS Live multifunction displays at Miami, where can check out the 7-, 9-, 12- and 16-inch models and ask about the HDS Live Sight imaging sonar (with an optional transducer) that shows the underwater world real time.
