Save your fishing spots for the future
Boating anglers can collect a lot of waypoints, many of which represent valuable and sometimes secret fishing spots. To ensure your waypoints don’t disappear if your electronics fail or get stolen, make sure you backup your files from chart plotter often.
While the procedure for backing up waypoints varies with brands and models of chart plotters, it’s a pretty easy process. Here’s a video example of how to backup your waypoints using a Lowrance HDS 12 Gen3 multifunction display.
